Before playing Hollow Knight: Silksong with viewers
This guide uses Silksong's single-player PC adventure. Hornet has different movement, resources and bindings from the Knight in the original Hollow Knight. Unlock an ability in your own save before enabling its gift, and pause events while shopping, resting or navigating menus.
Hollow Knight: Silksong: default PC keys
Silksong's default PC keyboard controls use arrows to move, look and aim, Z to jump, X for Needle attack, A for Bind, D for Needolin, F for the equipped Silk Skill or tool, C for dash/sprint, S for Clawline and V for challenge. Core play needs no mouse. Before setting up Hornet's actions, check your own keybinds in the game's settings.

Why these durations suit Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hornet crosses a ledge quickly, so start movement and jump at just 60 ms. A short C press requests a dash without deliberately sustaining a sprint. Queue jump before dash for a crossing; separate direction screens let an arrow overlap either action. A short 80 ms tap of A starts Bind and spends a full silk spool. The healing animation then plays by itself; Hornet must stay on safe ground while it completes. Needolin is held rather than tapped. These are starting values, not guaranteed timings for every crest or encounter.
Connect TikFinity to Hollow Knight: Silksong
- On the Windows PC running Silksong, open TikFinity Desktop and close its browser version. Sign in through Setup, complete TikTok login and capture Hornet's game in OBS or LIVE Studio.
- Open Actions & Events. Create a Z action using Simulate keystrokes, enable game compatibility mode and follow any installation prompt. Use 60 ms for the first jump; 1,000 ms = 1 second. Duplicate it for the table's other keys, changing the hold each time.
- Assign jump, dash, Needle and Clawline to screen 1. Keep horizontal directions on screen 2 and vertical directions on screen 3. Each screen has a separate queue, so movement can overlap a jump while opposite directions wait their turn. Silk and tool actions use screen 4. Add each used screen URL as a Browser source in OBS or Link source in LIVE Studio.
- Choose Sending a specific gift for each event, then select its action. Keep Repeat with gift combos off for Bind, tools and challenge. Start with a short queue and Skip on next action off. Enable rescue gifts only when Hornet has enough silk and a chance to stand still.
- Near a safe bench, press the play icon for jump and switch focus to the game within 5 seconds. Check one tap, then one direction alongside it. The Event Simulator does not send keystrokes. Clear pending actions before leaving the bench, and keep game focus during play.
Hollow Knight: Silksong stream tips
- Use benches as stream breaks. Disable gifts before resting and announce when control resumes; queued arrows should not walk Hornet away while you explain the route.
- Protect your rosaries. Pause viewer movement during a recovery trip or before an important purchase, rather than letting a stale queue decide where Hornet goes.
- Make silk heal a viewer save: label A as Bind, show the silk meter and explain that a short tap spends a full silk spool to start Bind. Hornet must stay on safe ground while the healing animation plays by itself. A gift cannot create silk or guarantee a safe healing window.
- Avoid gift chaos in hard boss fights. Disable dash, challenge and tool events while learning an attack pattern, or pause all gifts for the attempt. Announce the pause before anyone sends a gift.
- A delayed jump and dash are not a live rhythm controller. Demonstrate the order on flat ground; shorten the queue instead of extending holds to compensate for stream delay.
Frame your Hollow Knight: Silksong stream
Keep Hornet's health and silk meter unobstructed. Put the CSS key diagram beneath the capture and show a simple 'Bind enabled' label only when rescue gifts are available. Use text for gift names so the resource rules stay readable on a phone.
The key boxes use CSS, with no game artwork. Alert display time controls alerts and TTS separately from key holds.
Hollow Knight: Silksong FAQ
Why did the Bind gift fail to heal?
Hornet needs enough silk for Bind: a full spool. Check the resource meter and game focus, then use a short tap of A to start Bind. The healing animation plays by itself, so Hornet must stay on safe ground while it completes.
Can I copy the original Hollow Knight setup?
Use this Silksong table instead. Hornet uses A for Bind and C for dash/sprint, with separate Needolin, Clawline and tool actions. Check your actual bindings before assigning gifts.
Should chat control every boss attempt?
Start with exploration between benches. Pause gift events for difficult bosses if delayed actions interfere with dodges, and tell viewers which actions are currently available.
