One room. One dash. Another attempt.
Viewers Control Celeste on TikTok LIVE: Complete Tutorial for Beginners
Celeste turns a tiny room into a shared puzzle. Chat chooses a direction, commits a jump and spends the dash, while everyone watches the same landing. Build the stream around completing one screen together rather than racing through an entire chapter.

Before playing Celeste with viewers
Use Celeste's single-player PC campaign and practise in an early room with a safe floor. Viewer delay makes precise platforming difficult, so agree whether you will help with movement or let chat attempt the whole room. Keep menu navigation under your own control.
Celeste: default PC keys
Default PC keyboard controls are arrow keys for movement and dash direction, C for jump, X for dash and Z for grab/climb. Alternative bindings may also exist; check your own keybinds in the game's settings before copying this legend.

Gift-to-key starter mapping
Try these starting settings for Celeste; choose gifts available to your audience.
| Gift example | Key and action | Hold duration (ms) | TikFinity screen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rose | Left arrow: move left | 80 | 1 |
| Ice Cream | Right arrow: move right | 80 | 1 |
| TikTok | Up arrow: movement / dash aim up | 80 | 2 |
| Heart Me | Down arrow: movement / dash aim down | 80 | 2 |
| Finger Heart | C: jump | 80 | 3 |
| Doughnut | X: dash | 50 | 3 |
| GG | Z: grab / climb | 400 | 4 |
Why these durations suit Celeste
An 80 ms movement tap makes a small correction rather than walking Madeline straight off a ledge. C at 80 ms starts a short jump; holding jump longer changes its height, so tune that separately for a chosen room. X at 50 ms triggers a dash, whose travel is set by the game rather than the hold length. Z at 400 ms offers a brief wall grip without leaving grab held through the next attempt. These are experimental starting values, not measured settings for every room.
Connect TikFinity to Celeste
- On Windows, open TikFinity Desktop, close its browser dashboard and complete Setup and TikTok login. Launch Celeste and capture a practice room in LIVE Studio or OBS before assigning any movement gifts.
- In Actions & Events, create a Jump action with Simulate keystrokes. Choose C, enable game compatibility mode and follow any required installation prompt. Enter 80 ms for the hold; 1,000 ms = 1 second. Duplicate the action, changing its name, key and duration for each table row.
- Put Left/Right on screen 1 and Up/Down on screen 2, with directions on their own screens. Each screen is a queue. Jump and dash share screen 3 so those actions stay ordered, and grab uses screen 4 to overlap a climb. Add every screen URL as a Link source in LIVE Studio or Browser source in OBS.
- Create Sending a specific gift events and select the matching Celeste action for each. Begin with Repeat with gift combos disabled and a queue limit of one or two actions. Leave Skip on next action off so the first room is a clear demonstration of what each gift does.
- On safe ground, press the play icon for Jump, then focus the game within 5 seconds. Repeat with a direction and dash. The Event Simulator does not fire keystrokes. Test direction overlap yourself: independently arriving gifts cannot guarantee the exact dash angle or jump timing.
Celeste stream tips
- Enable Assist Mode for viewer chaos. Reduced game speed, extra dashes or invincibility can make a shared room achievable; tell viewers which assists you chose and retune the holds after changing speed.
- Screen-by-screen rooms make retries quick. Choose one landing as the goal, stop new gifts after a death and clear pending actions before the next attempt so the previous failure does not play itself again.
- Dash direction is read when the dash fires. A preceding arrow gift may have released already; separate direction queues allow overlap but cannot synchronise two viewers. You can supply direction manually while chat owns jump and dash.
- Grab uses stamina on a wall. A longer Z hold cannot create unlimited climbing, so keep the stamina limit visible in your explanation and aim for a nearby safe landing.
Frame your Celeste stream
Keep the whole Celeste room visible, including its spawn point and intended exit. Under the capture, draw arrow boxes and three distinct C, X and Z boxes with their hold times. Put your camera above the room so viewers can see the reaction without hiding the landing.
The key boxes use CSS, with no game artwork. Alert display time controls alerts and TTS separately from key holds.
Celeste FAQ
Will a longer dash hold carry Madeline further?
No. X triggers a dash; its distance follows the game's mechanics. Change the direction and timing rather than increasing the X hold.
Can chat complete Celeste without streamer help?
It can attempt rooms, but stream delay and separately queued inputs make precise jumps difficult. Assist Mode and one-room goals give the group more room to experiment.
Why did the dash go sideways instead of upwards?
Up must still be active when X fires. Separate gifts can arrive too far apart, so practise the overlap or let the streamer aim the dash.
