The run never waits for chat.
Viewers Control Subway Surfers on TikTok LIVE: Complete Tutorial for Beginners
The runner supplies the speed. Your audience supplies the decisions: switch lane, clear a barrier, duck under a sign or spend a hoverboard to survive a crash. There is no throttle gift and no waiting for a better moment once the run is moving.

Before viewers take control
This tutorial targets the single-player PC browser version on Poki, played on Windows with the game area focused. It is not a phone swipe tutorial or an emulator preset. Start a run manually, keep the pointer out of the way and make sure arrow keys reach the game rather than scrolling the page.
Subway Surfers: default PC keys
On this PC version, Left and Right arrows change lanes, Up jumps, Down rolls and Space activates an available hoverboard. Poki lists these controls on its game page. PC ports and emulators can differ: check your own keybinds in the game's settings, or the control guide if your version has no keybind menu.

Gift-to-key starter mapping
Suggested starting settings for Subway Surfers. Pick local gifts and label each key.
| Gift example | Key and action | Hold duration (ms) | TikFinity screen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rose | Left arrow: change lane left | 50 | 1 |
| Ice Cream | Right arrow: change lane right | 50 | 1 |
| Finger Heart | Up arrow: jump | 50 | 2 |
| TikTok | Down arrow: roll | 50 | 2 |
| Galaxy | Space: activate hoverboard if available | 80 | 3 |
Why these durations suit Subway Surfers
Lane changes need very short taps, not a held steering wheel. Start at 50 ms for arrows so each action releases promptly and the next input can begin. Holding longer does not buy a longer jump or roll, whose animations belong to the game. Space at 80 ms requests one board activation. These are starting values, not a guarantee against browser input repeats or stream delay.
Connect TikFinity to Subway Surfers
- Run TikFinity Desktop on Windows and close its browser version. Complete Setup and TikTok login, then open Subway Surfers on Poki in another window. In LIVE Studio or OBS, capture the game area and show all three lanes without browser tabs covering the track.
- Open Actions & Events and choose Simulate keystrokes for a Left lane action. Select Left arrow, switch on game compatibility mode and install its prompted component if required. Set 50 ms; 1,000 ms = 1 second. Duplicate for Right, Up and Down, then add an 80 ms Space action.
- Put Left/Right on screen 1, Up/Down on screen 2 and the hoverboard on screen 3. A screen is a queue: lane choices stay ordered, while a jump or board can fire without waiting behind all lane inputs. Load each screen URL as a Link source in LIVE Studio or Browser source in OBS.
- Under Sending a specific gift, link each event to its arrow or board action. Disable Repeat with gift combos to begin, especially for lane gifts. Use a minimal queue and leave Skip on next action off while testing; a long backlog steers for obstacles that have already passed.
- Start a fresh run, press the play icon for Left lane, then focus the game within 5 seconds by clicking the game area. Confirm one lane change, then test the other arrows and a stocked hoverboard. Use action playback, since the Event Simulator cannot test keystrokes.
Subway Surfers stream tips
- The run never stops, so gifts are pure steering and obstacle responses. Show the track well ahead of the runner; viewers need warning, although video and gift delay mean this can never be frame-perfect control.
- Keep lane taps very short. Two repeated lane gifts can cross two lanes and overshoot the safe route. Begin with combo repeats disabled and demonstrate the difference between one tap and two queued taps.
- Make hoverboard the big-gift save, with a visible stock check before each run. A board can protect against a crash while active, but a gift cannot rescue a run that has already ended or activate an empty inventory.
- Do not map W to forward or offer a stop gift. The game moves automatically. Keep jump and roll on the same queue so contradictory obstacle commands are delivered in order, then shorten the backlog if they arrive too late.
Build a readable portrait scene
Keep all three lanes and the next set of obstacles visible in the portrait capture. Draw arrow key boxes below the track and give Space its own hoverboard box. Put your camera above the run and keep alerts away from approaching barriers. Label a board as conditional on stock rather than promising a guaranteed save.
Use labelled key boxes, not game artwork. Optional alert display duration affects the alert or TTS, not the key hold.
Subway Surfers: quick questions
Why are the arrows scrolling the browser?
The game area may not have focus. Click inside the running game after starting action playback, then check that an arrow changes a lane instead of moving the page.
Will holding Up jump higher?
Use a short Up tap. Holding a key does not select a custom jump height, and repeated inputs or queued actions can make the response harder to predict.
Why did the hoverboard gift do nothing?
Check board stock, whether a board is already active and whether the run has ended. Other PC editions may use different controls or lack keyboard hoverboard support.
