Tiny taps. Instant retries. Plenty of saws.
Viewers Control Super Meat Boy on TikTok LIVE: Complete Tutorial for Beginners
Super Meat Boy makes failure quick enough to become the format. Chat nudges towards a wall, buys a jump and immediately gets another attempt when a saw ends the run. Pick one short level as the shared target and count successful landings rather than promising a perfect clear.

Before playing Super Meat Boy with viewers
Start in an early single-player PC level with a broad starting platform. Learn its first wall-jump manually before switching on gifts. Keep level selection, pause and restart controls with the streamer, and show the audience where the next safe landing is.
Super Meat Boy: default PC keys
The default PC keyboard controls are Left and Right arrows for movement, Space for jump and wall-jump, and Shift for run. Up and Down are not vertical movement controls here. Check your own keybinds in the game's settings and any custom configuration before building the viewer legend.

Gift-to-key starter mapping
Try these starting settings for Super Meat Boy; choose gifts available to your audience.
| Gift example | Key and action | Hold duration (ms) | TikFinity screen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rose | Left arrow: move left | 50 | 1 |
| Ice Cream | Right arrow: move right | 50 | 1 |
| Finger Heart | Space: jump / wall-jump | 50 | 2 |
| GG | Shift: run hold | 350 | 3 |
Why these durations suit Super Meat Boy
A 50 ms arrow tap makes a very small correction in a game where speed and momentum can turn a long hold into another saw collision. Space at 50 ms requests a short jump; holding it longer changes jump height, so practise a longer jump separately if the level needs it. Shift is deliberately a 350 ms hold, giving running time to overlap an arrow or jump. Shift on its own will not move Meat Boy. Tune these starter values on the first platform and clear old actions after each death.
Connect TikFinity to Super Meat Boy
- Launch Super Meat Boy on Windows and open TikFinity Desktop with the web version closed. Complete Setup and TikTok login, then capture the whole practice level in OBS or LIVE Studio so chat can see the spawn, saws and exit.
- In Actions & Events, create a Jump action using Simulate keystrokes and Space. Enable game compatibility mode, following the installation instructions if prompted. Enter 50 ms for the hold; 1,000 ms = 1 second. Copy it for Left, Right and a separately named 350 ms Shift run action.
- Put both directions on their own screen 1 queue so Left and Right cannot fight each other. Space uses screen 2 and Shift uses screen 3: a run hold can overlap movement and a jump. Each screen is a queue. Load all three screen URLs as Link sources in LIVE Studio or Browser sources in OBS.
- Make a Sending a specific gift event for each Meat Boy action. Begin with Repeat with gift combos disabled, one waiting input per queue and Skip on next action off. Because respawns are so fast, pause gift events and clear pending actions whenever you need a fresh attempt.
- At the start of the level, press the play icon for Jump and switch focus to the game within 5 seconds. Try an arrow tap, then manually overlap movement with the Shift action to check running. Keystrokes need action playback; the Event Simulator will not test them.
Super Meat Boy stream tips
- Instant respawns suit gift chaos because a missed landing quickly becomes another try. Keep the queue tiny so the next life does not inherit a long sequence of mistakes from the previous one.
- Use very short taps near saws and narrow platforms. Build a rhythm of nudge, jump, inspect the landing. Longer movement holds can preserve unwanted momentum through the place where you meant to stop.
- Shift run is a hold, not a dash button. Let its 350 ms window overlap a direction and Space, then release it before a tight landing. A longer Shift hold will not solve badly timed jumps.
- Wall-jumps need the character to meet the wall when Space arrives. Independent gifts cannot guarantee that timing; let the streamer hold direction while chat supplies jumps for the first wall section.
- Leave optional bandages for a separate challenge after chat can reach the exit. Announce one goal per attempt so viewers know whether they are aiming for completion or the difficult detour.
Frame your Super Meat Boy stream
Use a wide capture that keeps the wall route and exit visible together. Underneath, draw two arrow boxes, a Space box and a longer Shift box labelled as a hold. Put the current level goal beside your camera, away from the narrow landing platforms.
The key boxes use CSS, with no game artwork. Alert display time controls alerts and TTS separately from key holds.
Super Meat Boy FAQ
Why does Shift do nothing while Meat Boy stands still?
Shift modifies running while movement is active. It needs to overlap Left or Right; it is not a standalone dash.
Will holding Space longer fix a missed jump?
A longer Space hold changes jump height, but cannot correct a late take-off or wrong direction. Start at 50 ms and adjust only for a specific jump you have practised.
Why does the next life move before a new gift arrives?
An earlier action may still be queued or held when the instant respawn happens. Pause events, clear the queues and wait for keys to release before the next attempt.
